The deity was brought from Guruvayoor during Tipu Sultan’s era. This temple is popular for the “Palpayasam” which is an offering of sweet milk porridge. The central deity of the temple is a four-armed standing Krishna carrying the conch Panchajanya, the discus Sudarshana Chakra, the mace Kaumodaki and a lotus with a Holy basil garland. The temple is popular for witnessing several rice feeding ceremonies and marriages conducted in the outer area of the temple. There is a tank on the premises of the temple and according to legend, it was a place where Lord Shiva and his family worshipped Vishnu. Thus this pond is sacred and is often visited by devotees.

4.Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa temple:

This famous temple in Kerala is located at a hilltop of the Western Ghats, in the Pathanamthitta district, near Periyar Tiger Reserve. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa and is surrounded by mountains and dense forest. Every year, nearly 50 million pilgrims visit here. The pilgrims to Sabarimala wear blue or black dresses, smear Chandan (sandal) on their forehead and didn’t shave until the journey end. Only male devotees are allowed here. The woman below the age of 10 and above 50 are permitted to enter the temple. The temple opens during the two major festivals- the Mandal Puja and Makara Sankranthi Puja. The temple also remains open on the first six days of every Malayalam month.

Attukal Bhagavathy Temple has entered the Guinness Book of World Record for holding the largest gathering of women for performing religious activities. Women usually visit this temple from mid-February to mid-March during Attukal Pongal and offer Pongola to please the goddess. Pongola is a mixture of rice, coconut, and ghee. Men are not allowed inside the premise of this temple during these days.

6.Chottanikara Devi temple:

This shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. It is about 4 to 5 ft. tall and is well-known for its curative powers. It is believed that the goddess removes all the mental disorders and illnesses and blesses the devotees with mental peace and power. The temple is located at the top of the hill amidst natural beauty with the golden idol of the Goddess. It is only 17 km from Ernakulam. The deity of this temple is Chottanikkara Devi who is worshipped in three different forms (as Saraswati in the morning, as Lakshmi at noon, and as Durga in the evening) at three different times of the day. The main deity of the temple Udiyanoor Devi has four hands, holding weapons with the gesture of Shiva and Vaishnava together. This is a famous temple of Shiva in Kottayam. This temple is also known as Vaikom Mahadev Temple.
